SPRINGHILL - Springhill Police Service is investigating a case of vandalism of on Mechanic Street after someone used a fire hydrant marker to smash out the windows of a vehicle and home over the weekend.
At approximately 3 a.m., Saturday morning the occupants were awoken by the sound of smashing glass to discover the windows of their van and front porch had been smashed out.
"No one is in custody or has been charged," acting chief Dean Ruddick said. "The matter is still under investigation."
The Record has learned the victim of the crime was an employee of the town's Leisure Service Dept. but Ruddick could not divulge further details.
Ruddick reported there are no suspects at the moment but anyone with information regarding the incident can contact police or Crimestoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477. Crimestoppers offers cash rewards for information leading to a conviction.
